Welcome to the Rosewarne Garden Society
Newsflash: The RGS is looking for new committee members. If you have a small amount of time to spare and are interested in gardening, we'll love to hear from you.
Newsflash: Several members of the RGS were at a recording of BBC Radio 4's Gardeners' Question Time recently. The programme is scheduled for Friday 26 February at 3.00 pm and will be repeated on Sunday 28 February at 2.00 pm. It was organised by Carol Richards of the Camborne-Redruth Fuchsia Society and was a very successful evening. The Chairman was Peter Gibbs and the expert panel was made up of Pippa Greenwood, Anne Swithinbank and Bob Flowerdew.
Please note: We're having a table sale of plants and associated gardening items at our AGM on Monday 22nd. February in aid of the Precious Lives Appeal. All donations welcome on the night.
Rosewarne Garden Society meets on the fourth Monday of each month in the Shepherd Building Lecture Hall at Duchy College at Rosewarne in Camborne.
Duchy College, one of the leading land-based skills colleges in the country, was built on the site of the former Rosewarne Horticultural Experimental Station, world-renowned for its research and development work on horticultural crops such as daffodils, anemones, winter vegetables, shelter belts, trees and hedges and a range of glasshouse and polytunnel crops.
The Garden Society has a membership of 70 and attracts people of all ages with mixed interests. We welcome anyone with an interest in any form of gardening.
There is a plant stall each meeting and an opportunity to seek guidance and support if you are new to growing and gardening. The Society also arranges local visits to gardens and shows and has a Christmas social and a dinner each year.
You are most welcome to come along. A warm welcome awaits you. If you would like to contact us, please visit our contact page.
